Although the breadth of Commonwealth activity is such that areas for entirely new expenditure are hard to find, there are a few.
To date we have included only one: a proposal for a form of Universal Basic Income. Although this is usually presented as an alternative to current income support payments it is such a large undertaking that we have included it here as a stand alone new expenditure initiative.
There may be other initiatives you consider the Commonwealth should fund. If they are significant – say, $100 million per annum - and have a degree of popular support please get in touch and provide details. If they meet the test of materiality and there is sufficient information and interest to build a model we will try to do so.
